TV host Jasmine Harman is moved to tears of joy because this time it is her dream that has come true.
As presenter of A Place In The Sun, Jasmine has spent 15 years matching Brits with their perfect homes abroad.
But as the mum of two approached her tenth wedding anniversary she had a single goal in mind. Something far closer to home and personal.
A year ago she set about losing two stone so she could once again fit into the dress she wore when she wed TV cameraman Jon Boast.
That was on June 19, 2009 and, as our exclusive photo shoot shows, she has succeeded in spectacular style.
When she was finally zipped into the flamenco-themed beaded gown she had worn a decade ago, Jasmine, 43, welled up with tears.
She said: “This has always been my goal. I have all the same butterflies I did then. I feel like a princess again.
“Putting on this dress been something I’ve been thinking about for so long and I didn’t know if it would actually happen.
“I doubted myself because of having the children and my shape changing and I’ve got varicose veins and a caesarean scar.
“But I’m still me inside, to put this dress on gives me a real sense of accomplishment. It’s amazing and I just can’t wait for my husband to see me. I feel really excited and proud of myself.”
Last year, 5ft 9in Jasmine was tipping the scales at 12st 4lbs and was a size 14 to 16.
And over the years, her voluptuous figure has seen her become the butt of cruel remarks on social media.
Once, a producer on A Place in the Sun sent around an email with pictures of Jasmine, saying the presenter looked pregnant when she wasn’t.
The star responded by going out for a huge pizza and decided to shrug off what anyone else said.
Jasmine said: “It was harsh what she said, but it was years ago and I’m still friends with her.”
But even after shedding pounds it seemed Jasmine cannot win.
She said: “Even since I’ve lost weight, I have people saying I’ve lost my curves or I look ill or anorexic.
“I don’t care. I know what my body looks like when I’m bigger and smaller and I don’t need anybody to tell me. I take it all with a pinch of salt.”
Having two babies through IVF – Joy is five, and three-year-old son Albion – saw Jasmine pile on the weight.
She said: “For the last six years on our wedding anniversary I’ve either been pregnant, or post-baby, or breastfeeding, or just overweight. I needed something to motivate me to change my lifestyle.”
Getting back into her wedding dress for my tenth anniversary drove Jasmine to alter her ways. She said: “I wanted to do a vow renewal ceremony as well but I haven’t organised that yet. I think I will now!”
To shed the extra pounds, Jasmine, who is a vegan began exercising every day.
She also cut down on booze and junk food and ate smaller food portions, from a cereal bowl instead of a plate.
She laughed: “I don’t deprive myself and nothing is off limits, apart from non-vegan food, obviously.”
Jasmine’s hard work paid off when she slipped her size 10 frame back into her wedding frock for us last week at a country house hotel near Croydon, South London.
Jasmine had her make-up and hair done just as she had on her wedding day and couldn’t keep the delight off her face as she posed for our cameraman. She said losing weight has made her feel sexier, too.
She said: “I definitely feel more body confident. I’ve never beaten myself up for having a bit of flab but I do feel sexier.
“I feel more energetic and feel I look better in my clothes and I’m more confident at work.
“I can wear pencil skirts now as opposed to full skirts, and dresses that show my back and arms. And I’m pleased I haven’t lost my curves – I’ve still got my boobs and bum.
“I can barely breathe [in the dress]! I’ve always had big boobs and when I got married they were the smallest they’d ever been, at that time I was a 34C. I’ve never been a C cup before or since, not since I was about 12.
“I’m half a stone off my wedding weight but as you get older you don’t actually want to be thin; you want to be a healthy weight and have energy because on your face you begin to look gaunt.
“I’ve got my cheekbones back since I’ve lost weight. That’s the thing I love most, that I’ve got my jawline again instead of a double chin and my arms and shoulders are back.”
Six months ago, Jasmine had a double chin and was starting to get bingo wings.
She said: “I’m still wobbly around the middle I’m fine with that.” Her husband is also delighted with Jasmine’s transformation.
She said: “Jon’s really proud of me. Of course, he thinks I’m sexy whatever size I am, and I didn’t do this for him, but for me. But he’s always saying to the kids, ‘Mummy looks great – she’s so fit!’”
But Jasmine has kept our photo shoot a secret from Jon, who’s been away for two months filming a TV series in the US.
He will be back tomorrow, in time for their wedding anniversary which they will celebrate with a weekend away at a spa hotel.
Jasmine said: “He’ll see the photos of me online before he’s back and he’ll be so surprised! I feel like putting this dress back on in honour of our anniversary celebrates how our lives have changed and our children and our love for each other. I’m going to cry now!”
And Jasmine’s eyes well up once again.
