Apple Must Face Patent Claims on Security Tech in iPhones, iPads – Bloomberg Law

Apple Inc. failed to convince a California federal judge to dismiss allegations by R.N. Nehushtan Trust Ltd. that its iPhones, iPads, and Watches infringe two patents for technology that prevents the hacking and cloning of devices.

“Apple’s arguments depend on how the asserted claims are constructed; it is premature to construct those claims now,” Judge William H. Orrick wrote in an opinion issued Wednesday denying Apple’s motion to dismiss the suit in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. “RNN Trust sufficiently pleaded that the challenged elements of the asserted claims are met.”
