Area 51 news: Will proof of alien life emerge tonight? Latest odds of Area 51 raid success

The raid in Nevada has been called off but hundreds of enthusiasts and alien hunters remain hopeful. Small groups of people gathered today (September 20) outside the gates to the mysterious US Air Force base, rumoured to house extraterrestrials. In response to today’s turnout, bookmakers have set prices on whether evidence of alien life will emerge before the end of the day. The move was spurred by Area 51 raiders appearing in the desert today armed with placards and inflatable aliens.

Irish bookies Paddy Power gave 5/1 odds of alien life being discovered before midnight.

But the odds do not stop there and the bookies offered 2/1 odds of alien life being found before the end of the year.

At 10/3 odds, Paddy Power said proof of extraterrestrial life could be found by the end of the year 2020.

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “There’s nothing quite like making a plan and sticking to it, and I’ve got to admire the lad who created the Storm Area 51 Facebook event to ‘see them ’ months ago.

“We’re one step closer to meeting our extra-terrestrial brothers and sisters, though I imagine they’d take one look at what’s going on here on Earth and get straight back on the spaceship and head home.”

Paddy Power also offered 10/1 odds on the nearby town of Rachel, Nevada, being evacuated due to the raid.

The Area 51 raid was created in July this year by online prankster Matty Roberts from Bakersfield, California.

The event was dubbed “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us” and was scheduled to take place today under the cover of darkness.

The organiser has since pulled out of the raid and instead focused his attention on organising an Area 51-themed EDM or electronic dance music rave in Las Vegas.

The party took place on September 18 and was attended by some of the 2.1 million people who showed interest in Area 51 raid.

But before anyone could storm the Area 51 base, the US Air Force warned any would-be-raiders against attempting to enter the facility.

US Air Force spokeswoman Laura McAndrews said: “We would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.

“The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”

What is Area 51? Does it hide alien corpses and UFO technology?

Area 51 is the unofficial codename for a highly classified US Air Force base tucked away in a remote part of the Nevada desert.

The base is officially known as Homey Airport or Groom Lake.

The base is designated a training range for the US Air Force but conspiracy theorists bizarrely believe it is a top-secret facility for UFO-related technology.

A supposed UFO crash over Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947 has inspired generations of so-called truthers to question the existence of Area 51.

Many UFO enthusiasts believed the crashed parts of the Roswell spacecraft are held at the base.
