BGOV Bill Summary: HR 3919, FCC Equipment Security Reviews – Bloomberg Law

The Federal Communications Commission would be required by H.R. 3919 to finalize rules barring it from approving the use of communications equipment that poses an unacceptable risk to national security or safety.

The rules would have to state that the commission won’t review or approve any authorization applications for equipment that is produced or provided by an entity found to pose a national security risk and is capable of allowing disruption of or intrusion into communications traffic or otherwise poses an unacceptable security risk.
