Black British Business Awards honour trailblazers and rising stars


The year’s ceremony brought together another full house of more than 450 senior leaders, industry influencers and high-profile supporters.

Chizzy Akudolu star of Strictly Come Dancing 2017 and Master Chef 2018 was compere.

Melanie Eusebe, the Awards chair and co-founder, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating the enormous talent and achievements of this year’s winners of the Black British Business awards 2018.

From scientific rigour to the beauty and creativity of the arts, the 2018 winners have made significant economic contributions to the financial performance of their organisations, she added.

“They have continuously demonstrated excellence in their industries, all while using their knowledge and expertise to create opportunities for those who come after them.”

The 2018 awards distinguished outstanding black business professionals and entrepreneurs at the top of their game and included:

Arts & Media Leader of the Year Selma Nichollas, Founder and CEO of Looks like Me;

Consumer & Luxury Rising Star Mark Maciver, CEO SliderCuts;

Consumer & Luxury Leader of the Year Gerard Crichlow, Head and Cultural Strategy at AMV BBDO;

Entrepreneur Rising Star Steve Bartlett, CEO and Founder of Social Chain;

Entrepreneur Leader of the Year Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, Co-Founder of Redington;
