IF you don’t want your furry friends to overheat in the summer sun then you might want to head down to Aldi and B&M which are selling cooling mats for pets.
So now you can sunbathe in the garden alongside your pet pooch or cat knowing that they can stay cool.
They’re roughly 60cm by 60cm and also promise to help with allergies, heat stroke, skin conditions and post-surgery.
These are made from durable mesh and nylon, which B&M says lets air circulate below the body.
They’re roughly 48cm by 73cm by 3.8cm.
You can also buy a slightly pricier cooling mat with bolstered sides for added comfort that’s infused with citronella essential oils, which B&M says acts as an insect repellent and aids relaxation.
You can only buy the mats in store at B&M and they are subject to availability. Use B&M’s store locator tool to find your nearest branch.
But B&M isn’t the only discount retailer to be selling pet cooling mats this summer.
These contain a pressure-activated gel that Aldi says brings down body temperature by absorbing body heat.
Aldi adds that they can also help to relieve pain, aches and stress.
Plus, they’re wipe clean which helps with those muddy paws.
Aldi’s medium version is sold out online and there are apparently only ten of the small versions left so you’ll have to go quick to snap one up.
Just bear in mind that you will have to pay £2.95 for standard delivery or to click and collect in store – although delivery is free if you spend over £20.
Use Aldi’s store locator tool to find your nearest branch.
But the mats aren’t the only treats you can pick up for your four-legged friends this summer as B&M is selling garden sun loungers for dogs so your pets can enjoy the sunshine too.
B&M is also selling a garden fountain for dogs – and they can use it themselves.
Plus, here’s how to know if your pet is coping with the heat and the warnings signs to look for.
Meanwhile, be careful about walking your dog on the beach this summer as it could land you a hefty fine.
