Stormy weather brought the Dorset Boardwalk Art Fest to an early close on Saturday.
“The event got rained out,” said Joan Grover with Dorset Books & Candy Shack. “It was going great guns until it started lightning, and once that wind came up and it started to sprinkle and lightning, the vendors pretty much felt obligated to pull out.”
Up to that point, she said, it had been successful.
“All the authors that came to the bookstore were very pleased with the number of books they were able to sign and sell,” said Grover. “Some of the vendors did very well in the very short time.”
