Sarah Shaw of La Reina and Eliana Urzua of Bishop Diego were named the 2023 co-Most Valuable Players in the Tri-Valley League for girls volleyball.

Named to the first team were Makenna Hawkins, Reagan Maguire and Logan Burns of La Reina; Kaitlin Logan and Soraya Forbes of St. Bonaventure; Melanie Davidson and Oyin Opawumi of Cate; Sarah Woodhouse of Laguna Blanca; and Ashlyn Mullin of Foothill Tech.

Named to the second team were Maddie Dodd and Emily Morge of La Reina; Sienna Huckestein and Maggie Daily of St. Bonaventure; Fallon Erickson and Coco Klinman of Cate; Natalie Bianchi and Sophie Otte of Laguna Blanca; Morgan Houston of Foothill Tech; and Sage Thorne-Thomsen of Bishop Diego.

Earning honorable-mention honors were Maggie Kearin and Lily Morge of La Reina; Hallie Barlow, Alexis Cogswell and Sara Stoney of St. Bonaventure; Evangeline Little, Emerson Evans and Josie Frazer of Cate; Ginger Finney and Danica Rux of Laguna Blanca; and Channing McClure of Foothill Tech.

Christine Yangson of league champion La Reina was named the Coach of the Year.

All-Tri-Valley League Boys Cross Country

Sebastian Sutch of Cate earned Most Valuable Runner of the Year honors.

Making the first team were Baker Carlisle, Viggo Bortolin, Jaden Prillhart and Nathan Leedy of Foothill Tech; Everest Schipper and Ati Zwieback of Cate; and Mateo Escalante of Thacher.

Earning second-team honors were Henry Fulk, Brandon Wofford and Nathan Chanin of Foothill Tech; Lucas DeClercq and Quinn Armstead of Thacher; Mario Partello of St. Bonaventure; and Oliver Lee of Cate.

Earning honorable-mention honors were Colin Sasek, Andrew Burns and Daniel Garfias of St. Bonaventure; and Joe Simolon, Josh Lopez and Brennan Todd of Bishop Diego.

All-Tri-Valley League Girls Cross Country

Rebecca Walker of Foothill Tech earned Most Valuable Runner of the Year honors.

Earning first-team honors were Avery Lieb, Julie Lui, Taylor Gudebski and Sarah Shoneshine of Thacher; Keera Wallace of Foothill Tech; Francesca Sutch of Cate; and Kira Rameson of Laguna Blanca.

Securing second-team honors were Annikka Zhou and Lily Clemens of Thacher; Calista Patterson and Danika Swanson-Rico of Foothill Tech; Ava Looper-Benson and Kaya Schwenke of Dunn; and Stella Rodgers of Cate.

La Reina’s Alessia Lavorato and Freyja McGarva earned honorable-mention honors.

All-Tri-Valley League 8-Man Football

Jason Valenzuela of Santa Clara was the overall Most Valuable Player, Tyler Martinez of Cate was the Offensive Player of the Year, and Kristian Scurtis of Cate was the Defensive Player of the Year.

Named to the first team were JD Pettit, Lucas Mendez and Julian Espinoza of Santa Clara; Carson Stewart, Spencer Hlavaty, Ganden Walker and Gabriel Lea of Laguna Blanca; Graham Rogers, Ian Housden, Harry Morfit and Gage Grimes of Thacher; Johnny Foster, Cody Mast, Zack Coulter and Henry Bouma of Cate; and Trevor Side of Villanova Prep.

Named to the first team were Julian Garcia and Matthew Serratos of Santa Clara; James Couvillion and Eka Nayak of Laguna Blanca; Quinn Pullen and Riley Valente of Cate; Brady McGawn and Jared Amaya of Thacher; and Carlos Maida and Landen Melendez of Villanova Prep.

All-Tri-Valley League Boys Water Polo

Filip Kurial of Malibu was chosen as the Most Valuable Player.

Earning first-team honors were Turner Stehle and Finn Haines of Foothill Tech; Nico Marazzi and Michael Maischoss of Malibu; Jonas Rutherford of Villanova Prep; Noah Peterson of Bishop Diego; and Remy Minis of Cate.

Jayla Provance of Laguna Blanca secured Most Valuable Player honors.

Making the first team were Piper Singleton and Audrey Yoong of Foothill Tech; Julia Archibeque of St. Bonaventure; Luz Schubert and Dionne Peterson of Laguna Blanca; and Delaney Ball of Bishop Diego.

Named to the second team were Annika Garcia, Olivia Sandlin and Lilia Gagua of St. Bonaventure; Samantha Wolf of Grace Brethren; Bella Baum of Foothill Tech; and Tessa Johansen and Chelsea Hayes of Bishop Diego.

Autumn Adaya of St. Bonaventure earned honorable-mention honors.

Leo Ybarra of Bishop Diego was named the Coach of the Year.

All-Tri-Valley League Girls Tennis

Lisa Hasebe of Cate was the Singles MVP and Julia Geib and Lola Tennison of Foothill Tech were the Doubles MVPs.

Making the first team were Alyna Takahashi, Reyna Takahashi, Collette Chang, Francis Davis and Sophie Alijani of Cate; and Caroline Kenny of Laguna Blanca.

Named to the second team were Sarah Monroy of Providence and Grace Trautwein and Lucia Camp of Laguna Blanca.

All-Frontier League Girls Volleyball

Kinsley Gullatt of Villanova Prep and Julia Phipps of Grace Brethren were named the co-Most Valuable Players.

Earning first-team honors were Pia Sullivan of La Reina; Lexie Goodyear, Annie Wang and Tenzing Lama of Thacher; and Maggie Daily and Callie DeBusschere of St. Bonaventure.

Earning-second team honors were Elisha McCullough, Marlene Lausen and Hayley Hubbs of Bishop Diego; Brynja Bars and Sofia Sehati of St. Bonaventure; and Cambria Rheinschild of Dunn.

Earning honorable-mention honors were Sophia Audish, Emerson Calle and Makena Wisebecker of La Reina; and Ashlyn Rifley and Reese Thelen of St. Bonaventure.
