BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) — The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
The 2021 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) kicked off on Friday in Beijing.
The leaders of relevant countries and heads of international organizations attended the ceremony online.
The forum, themed “intelligence, health, and carbon neutrality,” hosts more than 60 events, including meetings, exhibitions, research achievement releases, competitions in cutting-edge fields, and technology trading. This year’s forum is scheduled from Sept. 24 to 28 in Beijing.
SDG-RELATED RESEARCH OUTPUT
Beijing ranks first in the research output related to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), from the period of 2015-2020, according to the lastest Nature Index 2021 Science Cities, a supplement released on Saturday at the ongoing 2021 Zhongguancun Forum.
The supplement explores SDG-related research output by leading science cities and metropolitan areas in the 82 selected natural-sciences journals tracked by the Nature Index.
ONLINE AUDIO-VISUAL INDUSTRY
China has seen a flourishing online audio-visual industry with robust revenue growth.
In 2020, audio-visual web content provided by licensed and registered institutions in the country raked in nearly 294.4 billion yuan (about 45.6 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 69.4 percent, according to data released at a forum organized by China’s National Radio and Television Administration on Friday.
