Continental CEO says subsidy debate won't affect battery cell decision

FRANKFURT, Nov 21 (Reuters) – Continental will decide whether to produce battery cells independent of any possible government subsidies, the German auto supplier’s chief said.

Chief Executive Officer Elmar Degenhart, speaking to journalists on Tuesday evening, said it would only proceed on any production effort with partners experienced in electrochemicals. It would make a decision after 2020, he said.
