Coronavirus ‘spreading as hospitals using DONKEY SKIN to treat disease’ – claim

Now, one expert has sensationally claimed the spread has been exacerbated as some Chinese hospitals are using donkey skins to treat the disease – which has been proven to have no effect on the virus.

Traditional Chinese medicine manufacturer Dong-E-E-Jiao is reported to have donated more than £100,000 worth of ‘Ejiao’ – a medicine made from donkey skin – to hospitals across China.

The expert said this could have helped to spread the disease as he claimed the elijao has no benefits in tackling COVID-19.

According to Chinese company Ejiao World, Dong’e Ejiao “donated two batches of compound Ejiao to Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and China Resources WISCO General Hospital.”

International horse and donkey charity Brooke said in a statement: “The medicine, which is not proven to have any positive effect in tackling the virus, is made from gelatine found within donkey skins.

“International horse and donkey charity Brooke is issuing a stark warning about the risks of further spreading of viruses as skins are transported from Africa, Asia and South America.

“The donation of Ejiao to Chinese hospitals, reported by ‘Ejiao World’ on Chinese social app WeChat, raises concerns about a trade which already has glaring animal welfare issues and risks of disease spreading.”

China has put a temporary ban on the trade of wild animals and the closure of all wildlife markets across the country, but donkey skins continue to be exported to the country, according to Brooke.

“Methods of illegal slaughter are completely inhumane and also pose huge human health risks with donkey carcases not being disposed of correctly, which is a public health concern.”

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, has said doctors are working “night and day” to find a cure.

China’s National Health Commission (NHC) have reported 136 more people to have died of coronavirus in mainland China, since last Tuesday.

132 of these deaths occurred in Hubei province according to official figures.
