Cryptocurrency Exchange IronX Appoints New CEO

Crypto exchange IronX has officially named Dimitris Hatzis as its chief executive. A preview of the appointment of the former investment banker came in a marketing video the company produced in October.

Hatzis will continue serving as chief operating officer of IronFX Group, a provider of online trading products and services and one of the two companies collaborating to create IronX. The other co-founding group is EmurgoHK, the architect of the Cardano protocol.

The announcement follows approval of IronX’s licensing application last month by the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the government agency overseeing cryptocurrency regulation in Estonia. IronX enables private and institutional investors to trade cryptocurrencies and other investment products, including commodities, foreign exchange and equities.

Estonia offers one of the world’s friendliest environments for cryptocurrency and blockchain development.

Hatzis spent a decade at Eurobank in different positions before joining IronFX in 2013, where he oversees front- and back-office operations. Read more here.
