RALEIGH – Over 1,800 cybersecurity and IT leaders, professionals and experts are expected at this week’s Triangle InfoSeCon in Raleigh.
The event is hosted by the Raleigh chapter of the Information System Security Association (ISSA), a network of over 600 cybersecurity professionals in the area. Through its annual InfoSeCon program, Raleigh ISSA aims to train and educate the audience on a variety of information security topics.
Attendees will gather on October 25 at the Raleigh Convention Center for a full day of technical talks, panel discussions, keynotes and product demos. The program also includes several hands-on sessions, including threat defense challenges from Trend Micro, as well as team scavenger hunts where attendees compete to solve riddles and puzzles.
The keynote speakers are M.K. Palmore, field CSO VP for Palo Alto Networks and former head of the FBI’s Cyber Security Branch in San Francisco, and Chase Cunningham, principal security and risk analyst for Forrester.
Throughout the day, there will be dozens of talks covering everything from cloud data protection to threat detection and incident response to advancements in hacking to emerging applications and the future of cybersecurity.
Another component to InfoSeCon is the IT Leadership Forum, which aims to help executives and managers find better ways to manage their time and communicate with their teams more effectively. The program includes tips on communicating with IT professionals and engineers, improving presentations and managing a busy calendar.
An “After Dark” event will be held after the main program on October 25 from 6-9 p.m. This session gives participants the opportunity to network over appetizers. They’ll also get to engage with middle school and high school students who are a part of the Next Tech Student Showcase, a collaborative of Chapel Hill-Carrboro students building virtual reality platforms, robots, games and more technology.
Tickets to the main event are $150 in advance (by October 24) or $175 on the day of the program. Student registration is $65. Tickets to the pre-event social on October 24 and the After Dark program are also available.
