Deutsche Börse open DELAYED: Germany’s top stock exchange hit by ‘technical problems’

Frankfurt stock trading resumed at around 9:10 GMT, just over an hour after it was due to begin, according to Bloomberg.

It is not yet known what caused the technical glitch.

As of 9:32 GMT, the DAX was trading at around 11,503.08 – down roughly 20 points or 0.18 percent.

Deutsche Börse’s Tradegate and Stuttgart opened as usual and were not effected by the technical hiccup.

This is the second technical fault experienced by Deutsche Börse this year.

The exchange operator faced similar issues in March.

Earlier this year, the new Deutsche Börse chief executive said he wants the Frankfurt exchange to win at least a quarter of the market for clearing euro interest rate swaps from London by 2019.

Theodor Weimer said: “It cannot be true that we are on the eve of Brexit but we don’t move euro clearing continental Europe.”

Deutsche Börse saw equities turnover of €1.3 trillion last year.
