Fed's balance sheet could grow by $4.5 trillion amid virus crisis: Morgan Stanley


The recession in the U.S. amid the coronavirus crisis will be “sharper” but “shorter” compared to the 2008 global financial crisis, says Chetan Ahya, Morgan Stanley’s chief economist and global head of economics. He adds that the Fed’s balance sheet will expand by 21% of the country’s GDP amid aggressive policy action taken to stem the economic fallout from Covid-19.
