With this Sikaria, a senior vice-president at Flipkart, has been given additional responsibilities which entails leading key segments like growth, marketing and new businesses, people aware of the matter said.
The changes are effective from January 1, 2022, according to the email, reviewed by ET.
Sikaria is also scaling Flipkart’s social commerce business Shopsy which is challenging SoftBank-backed Meesho.
Flipkart launched Shopsy in July and has seen a four times revenue growth during this festive period, compared to non-festive period, the company had said in a statement last week. Flipkart’s travel business Cleartip, which appointed a new CEO in former Myntra executive Ayyappan R, will also report to Sikaria.
“Prakash ( SIKARIA) has been with Flipkart since 2015 and during his time with the company, has created a significant impact by pioneering and launching impactful initiatives such as Ads, Plus, Supercoins, Games,Video, Travel and Shopsy. In addition to this responsibility, Cleartrip will continue to report to Prakash,” Krishnamurthy said in his note to company staff.
An email sent to a Flipkart spokesperson on Thursday did not immediately elicit a response.

reported first by ET. She takes over her new role from next year. Flipkart’s Amitesh Jha will continue to report to Sikaria and look after the supply chain for the marketplace.
Following Sinha’s appointment as new Myntra CEO, company CFO Ramesh Bafna and CMO Harish Narayanan have resigned, ET
