FTSE LIVE: Pound climbs as Brexit deal hopes rise; Thomas Cook facing collapse; Rolls Royce struggles with engine faults; RBS names new CEO

The pound has climbed over $1.25 as Brexit deal hopes rise after positive comments made by Commission chief Jean Claude Juncker.

Travel giant Thomas Cook is facing collapse if last ditch efforts to put together a financial rescue package over the weekend come to nothing. 

Meanwhile Rolls Royce is facing struggles with faults in its Trent 1000 aircraft engines and RBS has named Alison Rose as it’s new chief executive.
