is fully expected to reveal its shiny new Galaxy S10 flagship in the next few months and it could offer fans some pretty radical upgrades.

Although nothing has yet been confirmed it seems Samsung could bring a better screen, more power and improved camera to its next phone.

Rumours are rife that this upgrade will include a fully edge-to-edge display that may stretch to every corner of the device – ridding it of any physical bezels.

Unlike its rivals, Samsung will almost certainly not include a controversial notch with the firm opting to punch the front-facing camera out of the display instead.

Along with this improved screen, we’re also expecting the Galaxy S10 to come packing more power via an upgraded processor and there could be the inclusion of a triple rear camera.

This trio of snappers could allow users to take improved pictures in low light and offer a much better zoom and wide-angle images.

Other extras could include reverse wireless charging, which will refill other devices by simply touching them, and a much larger battery.

Clearly, this is all good news for those looking to upgrade their ageing smartphone but the S10 could have one issue and that’s its price.

Samsung is expected to release three versions of the S10 with a Lite and Plus model joining the standard handset.

Prices for these phones could start at £669 for the Lite model but this could rise to over £1,200 for the top of the range S10 Plus version.

That’s seriously expensive.

Luckily there is some good news when it comes to the price of Samsung’s flagships.

With the current S9 about to be superseded, prices for this device are beginning to tumble.

Samsung has just cut the price of the S10 by £90 meaning you can now pick one up for £649.

There’s an even better deal from Currys and John Lewis who have both reduced the price even further with the S9 available from the popular retailers for just £599.

If you want an S9 on contract then things are also looking much cheaper right now.

Retailers, such Mobiles.co.uk, are selling the S9 for just £23 per month which includes 3GB of data plus 1,000 minutes and unlimited texts.

There is a £110 upfront fee to pay but the total over two years costs £662 which almost £100 cheaper than Samsung’s original £749 SIM-free price.

Clearly, the S9 will probably lack some of the features that are about to arrive on the S10 but this older phone is now offering some seriously good value for money.

There’s also another bonus coming to the Glaxay S9 very soon with Samsung confirming that users will soon be able to upgrade to Android 9 Pie.

The rollout is expected to start this month will feature a new skin, called One UI, that will run on top of Android 9 Pie.

This presents a number of new features and a massive aesthetic change for devices.

Samsung has emphasised the new software has been designed from the ground up to make navigation on larger devices, such as the Note 9, easier with one hand.

Discussing One UI, Samsung said: “One UI helps you focus on what really matters to you.

“With hardware and software working together in harmony, see only what you need, using and viewing your phone with an experience that feels second nature.

“Because it’s the small details that make a big difference.”

One UI also brings Samsung fans new icons that boast striking colours and a new dark mode to look forward to.

WHEN WILL THE S10 BE REVEALED?

A report by Gizmodo has unmasked a swathe of details with the website speaking to a source at a major tech retailer who has knowledge of this product.

According to the technology website, the Galaxy S10 will be unveiled at one of the firm’s famous Unpacked events on February 20.

If true, this means Samsung will be bucking the trend by not revealing the phone at Mobile World Congress – something it has done in that past.

That major event is taking place in Barcelona from February 25 so Samsung could reveal things almost an entire week earlier.
