GeekWire’s Elevator Pitch Ep. 7: Augmented reality and virtual reality startups face off

Check out our latest episode of GeekWire’s Elevator Pitch, where entrepreneurs pitch their cutting-edge ideas … in a historic elevator in Seattle’s iconic Smith Tower.

In the latest episode, sponsored by Smartsheet, we hear from three startup entrepreneurs who are building products in the augmented reality and virtual reality arena. The entrepreneurs get just 48 seconds to make their pitch, so watch the seventh episode above to see who’ll make it to the top.

This week’s presenters are: Jeff Ludwyck, the founder and CEO of Hyperspace XR, a new company building immersive virtual reality experiences inside of science centers; Boaz Ashkenazy, the founder and CEO of SimplyAugmented, a Seattle startup that’s bringing augmented reality experiences to sales professionals in the home and office furniture industries; and Bee Mattox of Dance Reality, an augmented reality application that teaches people the fancy footwork to hit the dance floor.

After the ride to the top of the Smith Tower, the entrepreneurs face tough questions from our judges: Pioneer Square Labs managing director T.A. McCann; Flying Fish Partners co-founder Heather Redman; Smartsheet executive and entrepreneur Stephen Branstetter; and Starbucks executive and entrepreneur Richard Tait.

Two more episodes will follow later this month, and we’ll be back to showcase entrepreneurs as they rise to the top of the Smith Tower. In early October, winning entrepreneurs from past episodes will present live onstage in front of more than 900 business and tech leaders at the 2018 GeekWire Summit.

A big thanks to Smartsheet for sponsoring The Elevator Pitch. Also, thanks to Smith Tower, Stefan Scherperel and his video production team at Fueled Creative and GeekWire’s Cara Kuhlman and Stefania Hajnosz, who have assisted in the coordination of this series.
