WE all know how important it is to wash our hands – especially right now – but what about the germs on our sheets and clothes?
A recent study by bedsos.co.uk found that 68 per cent of us are not washing our sheets at a high enough temperature to kill bacteria. Check out these anti-bacterial heroes to help keep things extra clean — without cleaning out your bank account . . .
SCENT-SATIONAL: If you love the scents by Fabulosa, or just fancy something sweet smelling, check out its laundry cleanser. I’m a big fan of the Precious Gold scent and it’s designed to kill germs on a temperature where detergents typically would not — even on an eco-friendly 20 degrees.
Mums will also love it for school uniforms. One-litre bottles were recently on offer at Aldi for £2.19 — but I’ve spotted them on Ocado for just £1.99, so nabbed them delivered as part of my big shop.
DETTOL DEAL: My old faithful when it comes to killing germs is Dettol — so I’m also a big fan of its laundry cleanser on everything from bed linen to gym clothes. Like the sweeter-smelling Fabulosa, it kills germs on low-temperature washes.
You can currently pick up a generous 1.5-litre bottle of its sensitive skin cleanser at Wilko for £3, usually £4.50.
BARGAIN BUSTER: If you want to save even more, or trial using a laundry cleanser for less, the cheapest laundry cleanser I’ve found was at Savers — where a one-litre bottle of Wizz antibacterial laundry cleanser is just £1.
WAY TO ZO: I’m a big fan of Mrs Hinch fave Zoflora — and if you have a bottle in your cupboard you can use it to instantly banish bedding germs without forking out any extra. Just dilute into a spray and use it on your bedding in the morning, or you can pop a capful in with your bed linen wash.

NEED a mascara? I am a huge fan of IT Cosmetics’ Superhero brand, £22 at cultbeauty.co.uk – but it does dent the wallet. I’ve found that the Essence Lash Princess mascara, £3.30 at Wilko, gives a near-identical effect for far less.
