ANNAPOLIS, MD—On Thursday, July 29, Governor Larry Hogan will convene a cybersecurity summit in Annapolis to highlight federal, state, and private sector efforts to protect America’s critical infrastructure from cyberattacks. The summit will serve to underscore the urgency of preparing for and addressing cybersecurity threats.

“There is no greater threat to the safety and security of Americans right now than the cyber vulnerabilities of the systems that support our daily lives, from our drinking water and our power supply, to our railroads and air traffic controls,” said Governor Hogan. “As the cyber capital of America, Maryland is proud to host this summit, and we look forward to an open and productive discussion of our coordinated cybersecurity goals and initiatives as we work to protect the American people.”

The Annapolis Cybersecurity Summit will begin with opening remarks by Governor Hogan, followed by three panels:

  • A Federal Perspective: Setting a National Cybersecurity Agenda
  • A State Perspective: Building a Cybersecurity Ecosystem
  • A Private Sector Perspective: Championing Innovation and Collective Defense

In April, Governor Hogan hosted an Annapolis Infrastructure Summit of more than 25 governors, U.S. senators, and leaders of the U.S. House Problem Solvers Caucus to discuss ideas, initiatives, and proposals for a federal infrastructure and public investment package.
