Hiring services firm Passion Connect buys Basil AdvisorsPassion Connect, a strategic HR services unit which has been incubated by Blume Ventures, has acquired Basil Advisors, an executive search firm. The company did not disclose additional details about the acquisition.

With the acquisition, Passion Connect will be enabled to help Blume Venture’s portfolio companies recruit for a wider range of value-added services including executive search, international hiring and ex-founder hiring. Along with hiring services, Passion Connect looks into talent branding services, strategises dynamic and sustainable organisational design to cultivate a positive culture.

Started in 2016, Passion Connect has worked with over 80 startups of Blume’s portfolio. It aims to solve people problems including robust talent branding services, strategises dynamic and sustainable organisational design and advises on best HR practices to cultivate a positive work culture.

Karthik Reddy, managing partner and founder, Blume Ventures, said, “In four years, it has grown to become an independent brand, working closely and appreciated amongst almost the entire Blume portfolio. The team exudes Blume Values during every step of the way – taking founder-centric decisions at every step. This has gone a long way in moulding innovative workflows and solutions that set them apart from their competition.”

Hiring has remained a major challenge for Indian startups. Apart from Blume Ventures, several of top venture funds including Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Matrix Partners have teams to help their portfolio companies across different functions, with a focus on hiring.

“Over the last 6 years, Basil Advisors has worked with more than 150 startups at Seed to Series D stage and have helped them hire exceptional talent across functions, especially at the leadership level. We built early teams for some of the biggest names like Flipkart, Delhivery, Big Basket, Udaan, Curefit amongst others,” said Prateek Srivastava, founder and CEO, Basil Advisors.
