Housing Benefit is rising in April 2020: How much is the increase?


How much is Housing Benefit?

There’s no set amount of Housing Benefit and what a person gets will depend on whether you rent privately or from a council.

A number of other working-age benefits will rise by 1.7 percent in line with inflation.

This includes Universal Credit, as well as legacy benefits such as: Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, Child Tax Credits, Working Tax Credits and Child Benefit.

Disability benefits and carers allowance, which have not been subject to the freeze, will also increase by 1.7 percent this year.
