When you heat epoxy, it produces gases that can destroy your eyes, lungs, and membranes. You need to wear safety gloves, goggles and a respirator to keep yourself safe.  Ensure you wear rubber gloves that are above your wrists. Find out the type of epoxy glue on your surface to determine the type of respirator you need to wear. Ensure your google cover your eyes thoroughly and test your respirator before using it.

Aim a heat gun at epoxy for some minutes to increase its temperatures up to its softening point. Do not let the heat gun stay at the same position but work it in small strokes. If the epoxy glue is on a plastic or wooden surface, pay attention to the area to avoid burning it. You can use a soldering iron in place of a heat gun. Heat the iron and apply it direct it on the epoxy bond to soften it.

If the epoxy you want to heat is on an object rather than the tiles or floor, place it on the hot plate. Using iron will achieve the same results as using the heat gun. Ensure you do not heat the entire place at once, but heat small areas at a time.

3. Scrap the Heated Epoxy Using a Plastic Scraper

Use a robust plastic scraper to get rid of epoxy from the area. If you notice heat did not get into the entire surface, you should keep reheating it and scrap the site until you remove all epoxy. Avoid using metal scrapers because you can damage the area you are working in.
