The classic car is expected to get plenty of interest when it goes up for sale this month.

With Ferrari making just over 100 models, the drop-top 250 GT California was difficult to come by and expensive to use for the movie – especially considering the stunts that were required.

While three Modena replicas were driven during the film, a real Ferrari was used for close-up shots.

One of the cars was even destroyed in the comedy when Ferris’s friend Cameron Frye tries to remove some miles from its odometer, while the other never got finished.

Unlike an actual Ferrari 250 GT which has a V12 engine, this model is only powered by a Ford V8 engine.

The 1985 convertible has been left in pristine condition and could sell for up to £180,000.

One replica was previously sold at an Mecum Auction back in 2013 for $235,000 (£180,000), having undergone a 10-year restoration.
