The IIM is organising is the eighth edition of its International Conference on Sustainability, SUSCON. Thematically, SUSCON is focussing on Holism, Harmony and Happiness this year. The event will held from July 26 to 30.
In a statement the IIM stated, “In this edition of SUSCON, IIM Shillong is going to collaborate with the Centre for Bhutan Studies & Gross National Happiness Research (CBS & GNH Research) as academic and intellectual partners for the Conference. In addition to this, the European SPES (Spirituality and Ethics in Society) Institute also will be a Collaborating Partner in this Conference. This year, SUSCON is being held in a unique and integrated manner. IIM Shillong’s Foundation Module on Sustainability is being integrated with SUSCON in a manner where the young and fresh minds who got admitted to IIM Shillong from various parts of the country will be listening to and interacting with the Distinguished Speakers of the Conference as a part of the course.”
The IIM added, “Given the prevailing Covid scenario, the conference is going to be held in an online mode. Adhering to the values of Sustainability, the institute is going to plant a sapling in its campus in the name of each Distinguished Speaker. Also, the seed of a long-term strategic plan of creating a root bridge in the campus will be sown during the Conference. Academically, more than 135 number of papers have been submitted to the Conference. Authors of selected submissions have been asked to present their work in two ways – Either as a full paper (oral) presentation or as a poster presentation. A few selected papers may be considered for Publication later in time”.
