Indiabulls Group's employees personal details leaked on the dark web: Cyble

Mumbai: Personal details of Indiabulls Group employees were leaked on the dark web on Wednesday by ransomware attackers, according to US-based cyber security firm Cyble. The leak follows the threat by Clop ransomware attackers who had threatened to release details on Tuesday if the group failed to make a payment within 24 hours.

Contrary to the group’s claim on Tuesday, the data leaked on Wednesday consists of sensitive personal information like employee names, Aadhar cards, Pan Cards, phone numbers, passport, driving license and personal addresses. The documents have been reviewed by ET.

Customer loan details along with the property addresses against which the loans have been taken, present addresses of the customers along with their personal email IDs and mobile numbers have also been leaked according to the firm. Ransomware operators have released the first batch of data (4.75GB in size) today and have threatened to release the second part in the next 24 hours, said Beenu Arora, founder of Cyble.

In response to fresh queries by ET on employee details leaked, an Indiabulls spokesperson said, “Presently, we are analysing the incident through cyber footprints to restrict future occurrences. We have already put in place stringent and rigid access management controls considering cyber security in the backdrop of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and have implemented world class IT infrastructure tools and technologies to ensure cyber resilience and provide a robust business framework. We have been keeping our users updated through cyber security advisories at all levels at frequent intervals.”
