Invesco hires Amundi sales associate for ETF business development role

Invesco has appointed Amundi’s Hamid Asseffar to its ETF business development team.

Based in London, Asseffar will be responsible for growing the firm’s ETF business with UK asset managers and family offices.

At Amundi, he was a sales and marketing associate within the ETF indexing and smart-beta team. Prior to this, he worked at Credit Suisse on the trading strategy team.

Asseffar will report to Invesco’s UK ETF business development director Ravider Azad (pictured).

Kate Dwyer, head of UK ETF business development at Invesco, said: “We are seeing strong, continued demand among our UK institutional clients, including asset managers and family offices, for our suite of ETFs and it is vital that we have the right people and capability to service this demand.”

In September 2018, Invesco expanded its fixed income ETF team with the appointments of DWS’s Deepak Bharti and FinEx’s Wayne Parker as portfolio managers.

In February last year, the firm announced plans to drop subsidiary brand names Perpetual and PowerShares as it unifies the business under one global brand.
