iPhone SE 2 release – Will Apple finally reveal this new device tomorrow? – Express

All eyes will be on Apple tomorrow with the US technology firm set to reveal some big news at an event at its headquarters in Cupertino.

Things are set to get underway at 10am local time – 5pm GMT – and it could offer fans of the brand plenty of surprises.

But one question some will be asking is whether Apple will finally show off any new hardware at this global keynote?

The company had a very busy time last week with new AirPods, iPads and iMacs all revealed but one device that didn’t make an appearance was a new entry-level iPhone.

The iPhone SE has been a hugely popular device but it’s long overdue a refresh.

Concept videos and unofficial renders continue to arrive online with users of the current device clearly liking what they see.

One video posted by ConceptsiPhone reveals a smaller device with the fully edge-to-edge screen that’s now found on the iPhone XR and Xs.

There’s also a glass rear case and bigger single rear camera plus no sign of a fingerprint scanner.

This clip has had over 500,000 views with many commenting how much they like the design.

One Apple fans said: “I would totally buy this. Won’t be upgrading from my existing SE until Apple releases a small, one hand operated phone again.

And another added: “I’m an apple fan starting from 4S, 5, 5S. Now using SE since 2 years. Waiting for this. If not switch to Android.”

Sadly, if you were hoping to see this phone you might be disappointed as the latest rumours all suggest that this device is not going to be on Apple’s agenda at tomorrow’s event.

Instead of new gadgets being released it seems Apple is about to lift the lid on a range of new services which could include a Netflix-style video streaming service and a premium news subscription.

Even the invite that was sent out to media depicts a movie countdown clock suggesting the rumours are true.

Apple is clearly keen to make a big step into new services and it could be hugely successful if it follows its Music service.

Apple Music only launched in 2015 but has already managed to get over 50 million people to subscribe.

If it can do the same with a video platform then Netflix and Amazon may be about to face fierce competition.

We’ll be bringing you live updates from Cupertino and expect plenty of exciting news from this event.
