iPhone X vs P20 Pro vs Galaxy S9 – Which smartphone is now officially the best of 2018?

One of the biggest nights of the tech calendar is here again with the annual T3 awards taking place in London last night.

The ceremony attracts some of the biggest brands in the world as they gather to see if their products are worthy of a T3 gong.

Dubbed the “Oscars of Tech”, the T3 Awards are now in their 12th year and boasts more than 50 categories.

These cover everything from TVs and tablets to smart home technology and cars.

However, one of the biggest announcements of the night is always who has won the coveted smartphone of the year award.

And what a year it has been for these popular devices.

We’ve seen Apple launch their first all-screen phone, Huawei unveil a device packed with a triple camera and Samsung continue its run of good form with the new Galaxy S9 and Note 9.

So who has come out on top in this year’s vote?

That honour goes to Apple in 2018 with the best smartphone being handed to the iPhone X.

Despite now being superseded by the iPhone Xs this device included fast performance, stunning OLED screen and one of the best cameras on the market.

Another big award on the night is Gadget Of The Year which went to the Sonos One.

Sonos was already a leader in the wireless speaker world, but with built-in Amazon Alexa enabling music lovers to select their favourite tracks and albums using their voice, the ‘One’ proved to be the panel of judges winner, beating other shortlisted products such as Apple’s iPhone X, Microsoft’s Xbox One X and the Oculus Go.

Other winners of the night include Sony for their AF8 TV and Amazon continued to pick up prizes for its Echo speakers.

Matt Bolton, Editor of T3 said, “The T3 Awards is the biggest night in the tech calendar for good reason: they celebrate the very best the tech world has to offer, and bring together the brightest of an industry that gets more exciting by the day.”
