The biggest gainers of the session on the were Shiseido Co., Ltd. (T:), which rose 4.29% or 297.0 points to trade at 7228.0 at the close. Yaskawa Electric Corp. (T:) added 3.60% or 115.0 points to end at 3310.0 and SUMCO Corp. (T:) was up 3.42% or 54.0 points to 1634.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (T:), which lost 9.28% or 290.0 points to trade at 2835.0 in late trade. Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. (T:) declined 3.62% or 80.0 points to end at 2127.0 and Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (T:) shed 3.34% or 40.0 points to 1156.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1992 to 1449 and 238 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 0.13% to 22.36.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.80% or 0.55 to $69.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.64% or 0.51 to hit $80.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1226.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.20% to 112.77, while EUR/JPY rose 0.22% to 129.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 95.41.
