Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) announced a fresh set of initiatives for its subscribers during the cricket World Cup tournament.

The Mukesh Ambani owned telco said its users can watch the World Cup matches live and free on Hotstar or Jio Tv . Subscribers will also get ‘unlimited cricket season data pack’ worth Rs 251.

“By providing free access to the world cup to Jio users, Jio is effectively passing on benefits worth Rs 365 that they would have otherwise needed to pay for watching the world cup matches live and free,” said the company .

The Rs 251 cricket season pack has been created for the data guzzling cricket enthusiasts . The pack provides 102 GB High Speed Data for 51 days, which would be adequate for watching all the world cup matches, said the operator.

The telco’s Jio app will also have interactive games available for both Jio and non Jio customers .

Since its entry in September 2016, Jio has upended the market with discounted rates that have helped it net nearly 307 million subscribers by March-end. These special packs are aimed to get more customers and sure ahead in the race against Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
