Karen Spiegel and Jeff Hewitt officially became Riverside County supervisors Tuesday, Jan. 8 when they were sworn in during the Board of Supervisors’ first meeting of 2019.

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez also was sworn into his first full term following his 2017 appointment to the board. Spiegel, the former Corona mayor, and Hewitt, who served as mayor of Calimesa, were elected in November to four-year terms.

The two new supervisors replace John Tavaglione and Marion Ashley, both of whom decided not to seek re-election.
