Karnataka to hold SSLC, PU exams in May, June

BENGALURU: Karnataka probably has turned out to be the first state to announce exams for class 10 and class 12 (PUC) after the CBSE did so last week.

The state government on Wednesday announced it will hold the annual exams for II PUC classes in May second week, and for SSLC classes in June first week, buoyed by the steady fall in Covid-19 caseload.

The government has also finalised the syllabus the exams will cover, and will send details of the same to all schools. The government has paid attention to see students meet the minimum learning requirement for their respective classes and that the syllabus will not be a burden on them, education minister S Suresh Kumar said.

The state government reopened schools for class 10 and II PUC classes from January 1, and student turnout has gradually been picking up, according to the government data. The government has also re-started its continuous learning programme Vidyagama for rural children from class 6 to class 9 in a revised format.
