Lamborghini driver dies in crash blocks from car shop he owned in far northeast Dallas – Dallas News

Sims was the owner of Dallas Performance, a luxury car customization and repair shop, off Plano Road just blocks from where the crash happened. He was married with a daughter and two sons, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help his family.

Racing groups, sports car fans and other specialty shop owners took to social media Saturday to mourn Sims, with many describing him as hardworking and kind.

Kenny Tran, owner of Jotech Motorsports in Garland, said Sims was a “man of character and respect.”

“The industry that we’re in is very competitive, and I’ve seen a lot in my 24 years career. Taylor is one of the best that I’ve seen and it’s truly a great loss for everyone,” Tran said.

According to Dallas Performance’s Facebook page, Sims started the business in 2007. Videos on YouTube show Sims racing luxury cars in safety gear on a track at more than 200 mph.
