Make Your Mother’s Day A Memorable One, Not The Forgotten One

Make Your Mother’s Day A Memorable One, Not The Forgotten One

The second Sunday of May is almost knocking at our doors. What’s on the second Sunday, you ask? Mother’s Day, and chances are you have surely forgotten about it – at least if a study by The Pearl Source is any indication.

In a 2,000-person survey, the national jeweller polled both moms and their children to see exactly how well kids knew mom. And, as it turns out, the answer is not very well. Mom is getting passed over on Mother’s Day.

Chances are, You haven’t Planned

More than 60% of the respondents said that they were waiting until the week of Mother’s Day to pick up a gift; 27% said they’d wait until the day before.

The study also found that over 50% of kids were planning to pick up flowers for mom. But by and large moms overwhelmingly said they wished they’d stop getting flowers for Mother’s Day. That’s quite the disconnect.

If not Flowers, then What?

Here’s where moms were clear: Tech, jewelry, and luxury experiences, like spa treatments. We know you don’t have the time (maybe you should make some, though) to do your own research, so we’ve come up with a couple of ideas for you:

●  Radio with Bluetooth Speaker

Mom loves tech just as much as you do. And we know that not everyone can afford to buy mom a new iPad. So what instead? Pick up an easy-to-use radio with Bluetooth speaker. She can listen to her playlists – and feel free with building a custom list for her!

●  Comfy Footwear

Sometimes, we get so busy growing up that we forget our parents are growing old too. Get your mom a stylish pair of footwear with comfortable soles, to keep her fashion game always on the top. If you can remember her favorite color and get one in those, you will just put the cherry on the cake.

●  MasterClass Gift Card

You already know that mom is always right. She probably knows everything, but for what she doesn’t know, you can gift her a MasterClass. With this subscription, she can take online lessons of a varied range, right from writing with Margaret Atwood to photography with Annie Leibowitz. Bring the experts home to your mother.

●  Jewelry

Jewelry is never going to go out of fashion. A gorgeous necklace, earrings, or bracelet goes a long way. Can’t afford it? Think again. There are plenty of options you can pick up at reasonable prices. Just shop around. Usually you can find something for under $100 bucks.

●  House Plants

This is a winner. Add to the natural glamour of your home with pretty house plants in colourful planters. Terrariums and succulents are forever favorites as indoor plants. They also serve as natural air purifiers in the house.

●  Tool Set

Yes, you heard it right. Even your mom needs different tools and accessories for all kinds of work around the house. Typically ignored as a non-essential item for women, acknowledge her strength with a toolbox of mechanical operation or garden tools. She might fix that loose nail herself now, without depending on anyone else. Not even you.

●  4-in-1 Electric Spiralizer

If your mom is all up for the latest health trends, she must be a big fan of vegetables and all things green. To help cut carbs from her diet completely, you can gift her this electric spiralizer. With its instant machinery, she can make noodles from zucchini, carrots, and cucumbers. There’s a recipe book free with the appliance too.
