Manchester United vs Chelsea Betting Match Preview Premier League August 11th 2019

Manchester United vs Chelsea 2019

Manchester United will host Chelsea in the biggest game of the opening weekend of the new Premier League 2019/2020 season.

So, it’s fair to say both teams will bring their A-game this matchup.

It has been revealed that the match at Old Trafford will take place on Sunday, August 11 at 4.30pm.

Chelsea is also scheduled to face Leicester City the following week at Stamford Bridge, with games against newly-promoted Norwich City and Sheffield United completing the first month of the season.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been one of the biggest fixtures in Premier League campaigns, and the game against the Stamford Bridge side is certain to be no different.

The Blues are set to impress once again, under the management of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who is at the helm of affairs.

The 40-year-old really made a huge impression during his first season in management at Derby County, and he did actually lead his side to victory over Manchester United with a penalty shootout win in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford, the theatre of dreams.

With this in mind, supporters are predicting a great start to the campaign weighing heavily in Chelsea’s favour.

Manchester United Odds

Manchester United are one of the most popular teams to bet on, and every season there is a huge range of odds available from a wide variety of bookmakers.

Outright odds are a favourite with many bettors. Bookmakers offer everything from Manchester United to win the Premier League odds to odds on Manchester United to be relegated. Some bookmakers also offer odds on Manchester United to go unbeaten this year.

As well as outright betting available on what happens on the pitch, there are also odds available on what happens behind the scenes. Manchester United next manager odds have become a more popular betting market with the rapid changes in management personnel since the retirement of Alex Ferguson.

Odds on Manchester United to finish top four can vary from bookmaker to bookmaker and can be subject to bookmaker money-back specials and enhanced odds.

Chelsea Odds

Chelsea also has become a popular side to bet on. With the high profile nature of many of their matches, many bookmakers offer Chelsea Enhanced Odds offers to tempt customers into betting with them.

Chelsea odds, like every Premier League team, can range from Chelsea match odds like match result odds, to Chelsea league odds, like odds on Chelsea to win the quadruple. With Chelsea being recognised as being one of the better teams in Europe, odds on them to win silverware are usually short. Outright odds, such as Chelsea to win the FA Cup odds, are typically short because of their history and recent success in the competition so long odds on Chelsea can be hard to find. However, in big clashes against rivals, bookmakers offer special odds or money-back specials knowing that these games attract many bettors. Special odds on matches are usually offered when Chelsea play their rivals, Chelsea v Arsenal odds, for example, are usually enhanced somewhat.

Manchester United

Solskjear’s amazing run as a manager of the team that saw him flourish as a player was one of those beautiful yet seemingly fitting football occurrences, but the last season ended with a general feeling of dread and disappointment for both players and directives, as Manchester United is currently experiencing the team’s worst run of form in 57 years, including back to back losses in the Premier League last season.

No doubt, this opening campaign is a fresh start for Solskjaer and his team to meet a lot of expectations.

Solskjaer has already signed new players, bringing in Swansea speedster Daniel James for around £18m- to help with the team’s performance.

He is expecting to lose David De Gea – potentially to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain – and wants to replace him with Atletico star Jan Oblak.

There also will be changes aplenty in defence – easily one of United’s weakest string – with a second, £50m bid for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the cards.

United hope to steal Ivan Rakitic away from Barcelona, with the Croatian keen to move on this summer.

It’s obvious his deck is stacked with potentials, let’s hope this gets the job done this season.

Predicted Lineups for Manchester United: Oblak; Koulibaly, Maguire, Wan-bissaka, Shaw; Mctominay, Rakitic, Lingard; Rashford, Griezmann, James.

Chelsea

It’s obvious the blues are without their matchmaker, Eden Hazard, due to his transfer to Real Madrid; and it would seem that vital role has been left unattended to, but Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, assures that he has in mind just the person to play that role.

Although the fans are speculating it could be Kante, no one knows for sure.

The disadvantage of Chelsea’s coach could be facing would be his inability to buy players.

The Stamford Bridge side is under a two-window transfer ban and must make do with the players already at their disposal. This could either make or mar the strength of the team the returning legend hopes to build.

Therefore, all that’s left are the returning loanees allowed to join fringe players in the starting XI.

Predicted Lineups Chelsea: Kepa; Christensen, Rudiger, James, Emerson; Mount, Kante, Barkley; Pedro, Pulisic, Abraham.

Head to Head Manchester vs Chelsea

Historically, the hosts have the edge in this fixture, winning 78 to Chelsea’s 54, but United have only beaten Chelsea on three occasions in the last 18 meetings.

The Blues, however, haven’t won at Old Trafford since 2013 when current United player, Juan Mata scored a late winner in a 1-0 win.

Verdict

I am sure both teams will be looking for a strong showing when they meet, with both sides looking for three points for differing reasons.

Our prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Chelsea.
