A MCDONALD’S fan has snapped up 20 chicken nuggets for just 49p on Uber Eats, saving herself a whopping £7.99.
Emily Hibbert told the Latest Deals and Extreme Couponing UK Facebook group that she nabbed the deal using a discount code.
Her receipt shows that the cost of a 20-box of McNuggets should have been £4.49, plus £3.50 delivery, making the total order £7.99.
But Emily says she got £7.50 off both the cost of the chicken bites and the delivery by using a code.
It’s unclear exactly which offer Emily spotted – The Sun has reached out to her for more information – but eagle-eyed followers of the group commented on the post to say it sounded like she’d redeemed a refer a friend discount on delivery site Uber Eats.
One user wrote: “If it’s off Uber Eats, looks like she’s referred a friend and got £7.50 off.”
Another added: “It is a referral not a glitch or anything wrong with Uber Eats.”
While someone else said: “If you download the [Uber Eats] app some people get vouchers like £10 off or £5 off, some get nothing, but worth a try.”
Uber Eats does indeed charge £3.50 for “McDelivery” but when The Sun put Emily’s find to the delivery service it told us the £7.50 off promotion has now ended.
That said, it’s still worth downloading the free app to see if you’re offered any discounts – although you will of course save on delivery fees by picking up the order yourself in store.
Uber Eats is thought to be launching an “£8 a month’ food service for UNLIMITED deliveries called “Eats Pass”.
But you won’t be able to order spicy nuggets as McDonald’s has ditched them from its menu.
McDonald’s Brit boss Steve Easterbrook was sacked from his £12million a year job this week for a “consensual” relationship with an employee.
