A woman who helped draft and enact Wyoming laws that enable block chain currency will talk about those laws in a presentation Wednesday morning at Sheridan’s Holiday Inn.
Caitlin Long will be the featured speaker at a Republican meeting starting at 7:30 a.m.
Carla Klopfenstein, who’s a state committeewoman in Sheridan, said Long is a Cheyenne resident who grew up in Wyoming then worked on the East Coast in banking. Klopfenstein said both governors Matt Mead and Mark Gordon appointed Long to serve on the Wyoming Block Chain Task Force.
Long helped draft 13 block-chain enabling laws in Wyoming and has helped Gordon recruit companies to set up digital currency operations in the state, Klopfenstein said.
She said Long is in Sheridan this week to attend a two-day conference on block chain currency at Sheridan College.
Klopfenstein said Wednesday’s meeting is free. She said a breakfast buffet will be available for purchase.
