The supermarket chain confirmed no other products have been affected.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety,” it said in a statement.

It comes after Co-op issued an urgent recall of tins of tuna chunks earlier this month over fears they could contain pieces of metal.

Whole Foods also took its Urban Remedy drink off its shelves last week after it was found to potentially be infected.

Product recalls happen when there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.

It is then usually taken off the shelves or “recalled” which means customers are asked to return it.

The Food Standards Agency issues product recall information notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problem associated with food.
