It seems Motorola is hard at work. The Lenovo owned technology manufacturer is in process of working towards the reveal of its 2019 range of smartphones. However, discretion is something of an issue still considering some smartphones have been leaked already. We recently wrote about the Moto G7 Supra which may make ground at a later time next year as the G7 Power. Now, in another leaked render, Motorola’s next smartphone called the P40 has been spotted.

In the leaked render, the smartphone has been called the Motorola P40 and is tipped to be the successor of the previous model which was called the P30. Unfortunately, the Motorola P30 was only available in select markets. More, unfortunately, there is no specific information on as to which markets Lenovo-Motorola will be targeting. However, the render does reveal the design and the spec sheet of the upcoming smartphone.

First of all, the design looks to be a departing factor from the standard display-less bezel format which was seen on earlier smartphones. Also, unlike the G7, there is no notch design on the display. But instead, it has an in-display camera placed through a punch-hole in the screen. The punch-hole display camera is not a new thing now considering Samsung, Huawei, and Honor have now adopted the same format with the Galaxy A8s, Nova 4, and the recently launched V20.

The render shows the Motorola P40 in a chocolate brown shade, and like the Motorola P30, will only be launched in selected markets across the globe. The Motorola P40 design looks premium. There is a selfie camera on the top left side of the display but the camera specs are still unknown. The display size on the Motorola P40 is 6.2-inches and has uniform bezels on the sides and the top while the bottom lip is thicker.

On the rear, the Motorola P40 sports a reflective panel possibly made out of glass (Corning Gorilla Glass 3/4 to keep the phone affordable). In a report by 91mobiles/OnLeaks, the rear set camera gets dual-camera setup with a 48-megapixel sensor and an unknown sensor value of the secondary lens. The Motorola logo at the back also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. Apart from the fingerprint, Motorola may also bring in face unlock in biometric security. Also, on the rear panel one can sport an Android One logo which means the P40 will be affordable and will also get software and security updates on time.

The P40 may get a dual-SIM setup and the tray will be placed on the left, while power and volume buttons are on the right. On the bottom lip, the P40 will get a USB Type-C port, microphone, and a speaker grille. On the top, the P40 will get the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Motorola may launch the phone in the second quarter of 2019. Also in line is the G7 Power/Supra which will also be launched next. Motorola recently launched the Moto G6 lineup meaning the next lineup will make ground during the next year. Stay tuned for more updates.
