NTIA Nominee Davidson Clears Senate Hurdle for Confirmation Vote – Bloomberg Law

President Joe Biden‘s nominee to lead the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration is one step closer to confirmation after clearing a procedural hurdle in the Senate.

The Senate voted 64-30 Monday to limit debate on the nomination of Alan Davidson, with a motion to invoke cloture, allowing the chamber to proceed on a vote confirming him as the assistant Commerce secretary for communications and information.

If confirmed, Davidson will be tasked with implementing $42.5 billion in new broadband subsidies through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program. The program is part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs …
