NYC-NYPD cops nabbed a suspect about to flee the city they say attacked and tried to rape a 62-year-old stranger on the street in Brooklyn, sources said Sunday.

Police arrested Leroy Hatcher, 40, at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday for the attempted rape in Bedford- Stuyvesant on Feb. 6, cops said.

Police believe Hatcher —who cops were able to identify through DNA, surveillance footage and interviews — was trying to leave the city when he was busted, sources said.

Startling surveillance video released by cops shows Hatcher following a 62-year-old woman down a dark street before dragging her into an alley near Kosciuszko St. and Lewis Ave. about 5:40 p.m., police said.

The brave woman managed to fight off her attacker. She was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries to her lip, hand and knee, cops said.

Hatcher was charged with attempted rape, assault, criminal sexual act, sex abuse, forcible touching and criminal mischief, police said.
