Park Place Technologies names John Parlee as chief information security officer – Crain’s Cleveland Business


Park Place Technologies, a Mayfield Heights-based data center hardware maintenance company, announced it has hired John Parlee as chief information security officer.

The company said in a news release that Parlee “will be responsible for maintaining the Park Place Technologies information security program, and ensuring that information and associated technology, applications, systems, infrastructure and processes are adequately protected for our customers and employees.” He also will “lead development and implementation of the Park Place security strategy, management of security threats and vulnerabilities, and compliance with relevant security requirements and privacy laws.”

Parlee is a veteran of the information security industry who most recently was director of information security at VMware Carbon Black. He also was head of information security for the Cognex Corp. and was a security engineer for MITRE Corp. Parlee holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as a captain in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve.

Park Place Technologies, founded in 1991, has about 1,420 employees globally, including 459 in Northeast Ohio. The company does not disclose annual revenues. It says it has about 7,000 customers worldwide and supports more than 58,000 data centers in more than 150 countries.

The company last year completed a $3.5 million renovation of 16,535 square feet of its 101,500-square-foot headquarters at 5910 Landerbrook Drive.
