PlayStation Plus March 2020 Free Games Include Shadow of the Colossus – Screen Rant

The subscribers to PlayStation Plus will soon receive a remaster of one of the best games of all time for free, as Shadow of the Colossus is one of the titles that will be given away in March 2020, along with Sonic ForcesThe February 2020 PlayStation Plus line-up included some great games, but Shadow of the Colossus is widely regarded as one of the best PlayStation exclusives of all time.

Shadow of the Colossus was part of a loose trilogy of games that were developed by Team Ico. Shadow of the Colossus was the sequel to Ico and it would be followed over a decade later by The Last Guardian. The story of Shadow of the Colossus follows a young man named Wander, who must defeat sixteen Colossi in order to bring his lost love back to life. Shadow of the Colossus was a critical darling and it’s often the example cited when people describe video games as art, due to its beautiful visuals and unforgettable foes. There is even a Shadow of the Colossus movie in development hell.

Shadow of the Colossus was released in 2005, but it received a ground-up remake in 2018 that brought the visuals up to modern standards while keeping the gameplay the same. The remake of Shadow of the Colossus was a huge success, even outstripping the original in sales at launch. The PlayStation Access YouTube channel has announced that the remake of Shadow of the Colossus will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting from March 3.

Joining Shadow of the Colossus is Sonic Forces, which isn’t quite as well-regarded by gamers. Sonic Forces is a platform game that was notable for allowing the player to create their own fursona avatar that can work alongside Sonic and his pals. The recent success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie could be the reason why the game is making its way to PlayStation Plus, as the blue blur has become popular again. It will also be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers starting from March 3.

The PlayStation 4 is coming to the end of its lifespan, with the PlayStation 5 due to be released later this year. It’s unclear how Sony will handle the PlayStation Plus service in regards to the PlayStation 5 during its first year, but it’s open season on the old PlayStation 4 exclusives in the run-up to Christmas, with Shadow of the Colossus being a huge get for fans who have recently purchased the system.

PlayStation Plus members can claim Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces from March 3 until April 6, 2020.
