PNB hikes charges of these banking services from Jan 15: Check details here


Punjab National Bank () has hiked charges of various services pertaining to general banking operations effective from January 15, 2022.

According to the revised tariff, available on the PNB website, the non-maintenance of quarterly average balance (QAB) limit in the metro area has been increased to Rs 10,000 from existing Rs 5,000. The charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance have been raised to Rs 400 per quarter from Rs 200 in rural and semi-urban areas. It has been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 600 for urban and metro areas. (This will be charged quarterly.)

Locker charges have been increased for both all sectors and for all types of lockers except for extra large locker sizes. In the urban and metro areas locker charges have been hiked by Rs 500.

Earlier, the number of locker visits per year was set to 15 free visits per year; thereafter, a fee of Rs 100 per visit was levied. With effect from January 15, 2021, the number of free visits per year will be reduced to 12; thereafter, Rs100 per visit will be charged.

According to the latest tariff, current accounts closed after 14 days but within 12 months of opening will be charged Rs 800 from Rs 600. While accounts closed after 12 months are not charged.

In a separate notification on the PNB website, the bank has said that with effect from February 1, 2022, return charges on NACH debit will be Rs 250 per transaction instead of Rs 100 per transaction.
