One of the most successful smartphones of last year was Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. ‘FE’ means ‘fan edition’. When it comes to new flagship smartphones with top features, fans buy it first and then after a couple of months when prices drop and all reviews are out, “others” eye it. Meanwhile, FE editions work the other way around.

While we wait for the next Samsung flagship phone, which should be out there soon, here’s a chance to buy the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, which comes with Galaxy S21’s same striking design, high-level performance, pro-grade camera and seamless connectivity, minus a few features… features that may not be important to you.

The phone will come with a 6.4-inch display (tad larger than the S21’s 6.2-inch panel), 120Hz refresh rate, which provides the highest resolution on a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, long-lasting battery, and, of course, top-notch camera set-up — improved night mode setting compared to S20 FE, advanced 32MP front camera, while on the back there is a trio of 12MP ultra-wide, 12MP wide and 8MP telephoto.

And it ships with Samsung’s Android 12-based One UI 4.0 installed, which gets a thumbs-up. At a time when OnePlus is being criticised for its OS while Xiaomi is still working on reaching a level of finesse with MIUI, Samsung has been winning consumers with its no-nonsense approach to UI. Packed with deeper customisation options and stronger privacy controls, you get to call the shots. With expanded capabilities, your home screens, icons, notifications, wallpapers, and more can all be reimagined.

Customers can pre-reserve the S21 FE 5G till January 10 and that will fetch a ‘Next Galaxy VIP Pass’, which entitles them to the Galaxy SmartTag — worth Rs 2,699 — for free.
