Premium Bonds checker: Tax-free £1 million winners announced – did you win the jackpot?

Premium Bonds holders may have been listening out for a knock on their front door last week, in the hopes that Agent Million would be paying them a visit. This figure travels to meet the people selected for a £1 million payout in the Premium Bonds prize draw – and the latest results, for November 2019, were released on Friday, November 1.

They have £10,600 invested and the Winning Bond was detailed as 176LR488412.

The other winner is male and from Cumbria. The Winning Bond code is 168TK729554.

They have a holding of £26,600.

There were a number of other high value prizes up for grabs, and this included six lots of £100,000.

The areas from which these particular winners are from are Manchester, East Sussex, Cambridgeshire, Dorset, City of Bristol, and Cornwall.

There were also 11 payouts of £50,000, and 23 lots of £25,000.

The odds of winning per £1 Bond number is 24,500 to one.

While each Bond number costs £1, the minimum investment is £25, and the upper limit is £50,000.

A change in the rules means it’s now possible for any adult to buy Premium Bonds for a child as a gift.

However, like adults, children can only have up to a £50,000 holding of Premium Bonds.

Jill Waters, at NS&I, said: “For the two jackpot winners, the 1st November will certainly be one they always remember as a knock on the door from Agent Million will be seen as the most welcome of treats.

“Premium Bonds are one of the most popular ways to save in the UK and this month we reached the milestone of over 50million prizes being paid directly into winners’ bank accounts, saving them the time and effort of paying a warrant (similar to a cheque) into their bank or building society account.

“This year, we have also opened up Premium Bonds so that anyone aged 16 or over can buy them for nieces, nephews and family friends aged under 16, making them a perfect gift for Christmas, especially as the minimum investment is now just £25.”

How to check Premium Bonds results

It’s possible to check for prizes in a variety of ways, such as using the NS&I app, or the online prize checker on the NS&I website.

Owners of an Amazon Alexa can also open the Skill in order to ask Alexa if they’ve won.
