Publicis wins the media mandate for Hero Moto

Mumbai: After a competitive multi-agency pitch, Hero Moto-Corp has appointed Publicis Media as its media agency for mainline and digital media duties. The account size has been pegged at RS 600 crore, industry sources told Brand Equity.

One of the leading two-wheeler makers in the world, the New Delhi headquartered Hero MotoCorp called for a pitch months ago. What also tipped the balance in Publicis Media’s favour is the creation of a bespoke platform – ‘Team Hero MotoCorp’ (Team HMC) – that will be in charge of the account and will source talent from across the organization, both for mainline and newer digital mediums.

Gurinder Singh Sandhu, head of marketing, Hero Moto said, “Publicis was selected after a very thorough and competitive pitch process with strong presentations from several agencies. We are excited about this new partnership and the potential of ‘Team HMC’ in helping us drive even stronger consumer connect and grow brand impact.”

Tanmay Mohanty, CEO, Zenith India (a Publicis Groupe firm) and the executive sponsor on Team HMC, said, “Hero MotoCorp is one of the most prestigious accounts in terms of both scale and complexity. We are excited to partner them in their marketing journey where data and tech will complement the strategy, planning, buying and content verticals to further strengthen the Integrated Marketing play.” Team HMC will be equipped to mobilise capabilities from across Publicis Media globally. Led by chairman Pawan Munjal, Hero Moto-Corp, has significant presence in 37 countries across Asia, Africa, and South and Central America.
