Pulling 4 Paws to fill a NEADS – Sentinel & Enterprise

WESTMINSTER — NEADS is holding its third Pulling 4 Paws Truck Pull, a team-strength competition in which participants work together to pull a full-sized flatbed truck.

The event, which will be held at Wachusett Brewing Company, 175 State Road East, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, will help raise funds for NEADS World Class Service Dogs, which is based in Princeton.

The event is free for spectators.

During the Pulling 4 Paws Truck Pull, 15-member teams race against the clock to see who can pull the Wachusett Brewing Company flatbed truck, which weighs 26,940 pounds, 20 feet the fastest.

Teams compete in one of nine divisions: police, fire, city/town, business, school, corrections officers, U.S. military, crossfit or fitness, and open.

Individuals can also test their strength at the tire flip by seeing how many times they can flip a 200- or 400-pound tire.

Community members are encouraged to attend, cheer on their favorite teams, and donate to help support NEADS. Food, beer, and ice cream will be available at the event.
